This manufacturing client was a captive unit of Fortune 100 company responsible to manage over 100,000 assets worldwide. All IT Functions were managed by its captive unit located in India. The captive unit faced numerous challenges right from accurate reporting to global management upto its KRA of delivering cost-effective services as a support function.
XORISK Team conducted an assessment in accordance with ISO 19770 against 10 key competency areas. Detailed discussions were undertaken with stakeholders including function heads and business side executives to understand expectations. A report was prepared highlighting improvement areas in processes and tools in use across Server, Network, Desktop Management and SAM Team. Thereafter an improved process implementation was udnertaken starting from a Organization wide charter approved by Executive Sponsor. A mix of new and revise policies, guidelines and process documents were created. Custom dashboard for reporting SAM Scorecard was prepared by XORISK to enable monthly/quarterly reporting to Executive Management. Prioritized publishers were identified by conducting a risk profiling and a compliance analysis process was setup with ongoing support from XORISK Consultants. The activity of prioritizing publishers and reporting is done every 12 months to ensure focus areas are relevant.
XORISK was able to improve overall interfacing processes. All related IT functions (Network, Server, Desktop, etc.) understood how their work impacted SAM as a framework. Compliance Analysis was strengthened due to XORISK’s expertise in licensing. Now the captive unit is far more capable in doing its recurring reporting and detecting compliance issues which are addressed right on detection.
